Add a Listing

If you are a wildlife rescue, independent rescuer, or wildlife-friendly vet in the UK, we’d love to have you listed in our directory.

The first step is to Register an Account. You can then add a listing via the links below. You’ll find guidance on adding and managing your listing in our Listing Guidance section.

There are five ‘sections’ to the directory. We organise the directory in this way in order to focus contacts resulting from our site to to larger, more well-established rescues in this first instance. The hope is this gives finders the best chance of finding help fast, and helps prevent smaller rescues becoming overwhelmed with calls.

Below you’ll find a guide to which section of the directory your listing best sits in. Our volunteers reserve the right to make the final decision on where your listing sits, based on our many years of experience in operating the directory.

Note: Where possible, please avoid submitting personal information e.g. use a rescue specific email/phone number rather than your personal one, and don’t enter your full home address.

Public Sections

The following 3 sections of the directory are visible to the public

RESCUES

The main section of the directory with the most visibility. This may be the right section for your listing if:
  • You operate from a dedicated centre
  • You have been operating at least 2 years
  • You are a registered charity or CIC or affiliated with one (e.g. BCT)
  • You can be contacted by telephone
  • You have an actively maintained website or social media presence
  • You take in 1000+ animals a year
  • OR
  • You cater for a specialised low volume species or in a low population area (e.g. you rescue only bats or are based in the Highlands)

SMALL RESCUES

The secondary section of the directory with lower visibility. This may be the right section for your listing if:
  • You operate from home with the help of volunteers
  • You take in 100-1000 animals a year
  • You have been operating at least 1 year
  • You can be contacted by telephone or a social media direct message
  • You are a developing organisation
  • OR
  • Wildlife is not your primary focus as a rescue

NATIONALS

For organisations which provide advice or rescue services nationwide. This may be the right section for your listing if:
  • You provide help or advice throughout at least one country of the UK
  • You have been operating at least 2 years
  • You are registered with the charity commission or HMRC, or you are a CIC
  • You can be contacted by telephone
  • You have an actively maintained website or social media presence

Private Sections

These 2 sections of the directory are visible only to our volunteers. Listings here are still very valuable as our HelpDesk volunteers use them to help people who have not been able to find assistance in the other sections. Listings can move from ‘Reserves’ into a public section once they are more established.

RESERVES

This may be the right section for your listing if:
  • You take in up to 100 animals a year
  • You are an individual rehabber
  • OR
  • You have been operating less than a year
  • OR
  • You can only be contacted via a social media group

VETS

This may be the right section for your listing if:
  • You are a vet practice willing to provide first aid to wildlife
  • AND
  • You have a relationship with a wildlife rescue to which you pass wildlife for ongoing care
